Lake Weekend 2012

Hello again!!  We spent the weekend at Lake Oconee with Cline's family this weekend and had a blast!  This has become a family tradition - taking a weekend to go to the lake to celebrate Cline and Chas' birthday, and it's something we look forward to every year.  I didn't get a lot of pictures, but the girls had a great time on the boat, and Christa and Abby Kate even went tubing.  Abby Kate especially loved the tubing and threw a fit every time her turn was over.  We had to learn some hard lessons about being happy for others and being patient and gracious.  Enjoy the pictures!

This was actually before we left for the lake, but I like to get at least one good "messy-face" picture of my girls.  I think this was chocolate doughnut and yogurt???

Swimmin' by the dock at the lake!!  The water was perfect, and it was fun to float around the dock.  Here we have Catherine, Christa, me, Uncle Chris, Cousin William, and Cousin Maggie Beth!

Nothing like a little water "ring around the rosie."

Yum - chocolate doughnuts for breakfast!  There was a Publix right down the road from us, and they had the best, freshest doughnuts I've ever had.  Since I was "on vacation" and not worried about calories, I may or may not have eaten 4 of these doughnuts myself :)  They were worth every calorie!  The night before, Elizabeth fell off of the bottom stair while we were avidly watching her, totally prepared to prevent an injury glancing occasionally at her from the couch while we were eating cookies and watching the opening ceremonies for the Olympics.  Unfortunately, she bit her lip in two places, and it looked like it would require stitches.  So, Cline and I took her back to our old stomping grounds - Augusta - to have her looked at.  By the time we got there and got her cleaned up, we could tell that the cut was not as bad as we originally thought, and we avoided the stitches.  Whew!

Elizabeth enjoying a little breakfast, herself!

Our first night there, Abby Kate, in an effort to entertain everyone, came up with this little noise/move.  She made the funniest face, pressed her hands down in the air, as you see here, and made the silliest noise.  It was hilarious, and she graced us periodically throughout the weekend with this talent.

Christa wanted to try Abby Kate's little... I don't even know what to call it.... strange and funny noise while Uncle Chris held a sleeping baby Ella.

Cline's whole family (minus Uncle Cleve who couldn't come this year:( - big and fun!

I just took this picture tonight.  The girls decided to have their first sleepover in Abby Kate's room.  We'll see how long this lasts, although I've been able to complete two blog posts so far, so maybe they will actually go to sleep??
