4th of July

Hello all!!  As you know by now, the 4th of July is almost as big of a day as Christmas and Easter in Cline's family.  Cline and Chas started the Cave Spring Parade when they were little boys, pulling their wagons around the town.  It has since grown into 4-wheelers, fire trucks, horses, decorated floats, tractors, political advertisements, etc.  It's a little-known fact that my mother in law wears the same silver garbage bag as her Statue of Liberty Costume every year!  I think, 20 years ago when she started re-using the same bag, it was a very practical decision; they quit making silver garbage bags, so she had to make do.  As sentimental as Cline's family is, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't trade it in for a new one if she could!  It's been duct taped many times, and is falling apart, but it's a part of the 4th of July history, now!  Enjoy some pictures from this year's parade and BBQ!

OK, so this one isn't so much from the 4th of July.  This was taken a couple of days earlier.  Elizabeth has a new face she likes to make - she smiles and scrunches up her nose.  It's super cute, and I was trying to catch it on camera.

This is pretty close.

And here's Christa making a similar face at age 2!

A close-up of Elizabeth.  Didn't really capture "the face" in this one, but it's not blurry!  Now onto the 4th of July pictures.

Elizabeth ready to ride in the parade, complete with a patriotic stroller.

3 patriotic girls!  We love the USA!

We're a little bit country....  yes, they are riding in the back of a pick-up truck.  That's how we roll in Cave Spring, safely, at 5 mph :)

Family picture after the parade.

Extended family - from left to right:  Chris, baby Ella Katherine, Bethany, William, Chas, Christa, Cline, Abby Kate, Jessica, Cleve, and Charlie.  Maggie Beth and Elizabeth are in the front.

I just thought this looked like a cute photo-op.  I'll call it "Summer."

Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!
