If I Could Meet Anyone in the World....

.... it would be Sarah Palin. And guess what?? I got to meet her yesterday. Yep - that's right - I stood in front of her, spoke with her for a few minutes, and we hit it off so well that we exchanged e-mail addresses, cell phone numbers, and I'm pretty sure I'm on her Christmas list now. She promised to be my BFF, and she's already text messaged me twice today to let me know she misses me already.

OK, maybe that's a slight exaggeration. Since I can't get text messages on my phone (I live in the stone age), I don't know if she misses me or not. And maybe she didn't really promise to be my BFF. You don't think she was wierded out when I promised to be hers, do you?? But I *did* meet her, and she said she'd call.

Well... maybe she didn't say she'd call, in those words exactly. But I'm sure she will. We really hit it off! And I *know* I could get a Christmas card from her if I contributed some money to a campaign or something. She personally signs each one of those, after all. Well, maybe *she* doesn't, but someone who knows someone who knows her does. And that's just a good foundation for a beautiful friendship. I do have the picture I took with her, yesterday. She and I - a lovely pair.

Well.... maybe it's not *me* in the picture. Rather, it's a picture that she took with my brother-in-law, Chris, who actually, for real, seriously, I'm not exaggerating this time, got to meet her yesterday. (And who is also my current favorite relative, because he tried everything he could think of, trying to get me a chance to meet her, too)! (Bethany, you are a close second for calling me this morning to let me know about her rally tonight :). So, maybe Chris wasn't able to get a personal introduction for me, but he did gush about me to her when *he* met her yesterday at a fundraiser for Saxby Chambliss. I'm pretty sure she's going to try to e-mail me personally, later.

Alright, alright, so he didn't have time to tell Sarah about his great sister-in-law. But he mentioned me by name, so I'm pretty sure she'd remember me if I did run into her one day.

Well... he didn't exactly mention me by name, per se. But he *did* meet her, she *did* remember *him* when he saw her later, and he did say to her, "everyone in my family is a big fan of yours." That's MEEEEE!!! I am someone in his family who is a big fan of hers, and therefore, we connected last night!!! I'm officially considering myself to be a mere two degrees of separation from Sarah Palin. I'm also officially considering myself to be a wee-bit stalkerish.

Like I said, we're BFFs now!!!

You are a stalker, sayeth the lurker. Maybe it's just me, but did anyone else have a hard time comprehending that post?! Just kidding... super cool though. I met Bob Dole last weekend and do have a picture with him, though my eyes are half-closed and I look somewhat crazy and demented. Life as usual!

Love your story of meeting Sarah! Want to start a campain for her to run for President in 2012? You could be her press secretary! Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, as did we.
Love,
Patti

Where are Christa's 17-month pictures or did you forget her monthly milestone due to Black Friday mania? Cute post, though. But Chris and Sarah are no substitute for the Junebug.

Ali - Cute Christmas pictures require a clean house and Christmas decorations - neither of which I can seem to accomplish.
Mimi - You might notice I didn't do 13, 14, or 16 month pictures either. I've decided to do them quarterly after she hit the 1 year mark, so look for 18 month pictures this month.
I'll make an effort to get some pictures of her up soon - promise :)

I am so totally jealous that you met Sarah, or well, your brother-in-law, met Sarah! Close enough, right? Did you know she called me on election day to personally tell me to vote! Well, maybe it was just a recorded message, but she was definitely thinking of us when she recorded it! HA HA HA....

Whoa whoa whoa... favorite relative? Did he attempt to help you fix your TV? Did he put together your bookshelf? Did he struggle for nearly an hour starting up your ancient computer?

Hmmm... this means war...
