Fall (and a little end-of-Summer) Fun!!

Alright, I'm finally getting around to posting the promised pictures! Enjoy :)

Go Dawgs!! This picture was taken during one of the first games, before we realized how awful the Dawgs were going to be this year. Oh well - we are loyal fans, and making plans to attend the GA/FL game!

The weather has been so beautiful lately, so we have been soaking in some outdoor time. The girls wanted to have a picnic not long ago, so we ate dinner in our driveway, and then went to play on the play set.

We had our first play date several weeks ago, without the child's mom present. Alyssa's mom had a baby about a month ago, so we brought Alyssa over to our house to play to give the new Mommy a break. Christa was fascinated by this concept and kept saying, "Alyssa is coming over, but her Mommy is not coming over." They spent most of the time at the diner, talking like little adults. Every time Cline or I would walk through the room, Christa would say, "I'm not talking to you; I'm talking to Alyssa." So cute!

"C" is for "Clocktower!" About 2 weeks ago, the letter of the week was "C." Her class took a field trip to the Clocktower and had a blast!

I got to go with her...

...and we ate Cookies and Colored with Chalk! Such a fun day!

Christa loves to bake! Here we are making brownies (from a box, of course)!

Abby Kate is walking like a champion now and loves to get around. I love that she can walk! Despite what many said, it has made life much easier, now that I can put her down when we go outside or out in public. Christa loves it when Abby Kate walks "to her."

My sweet girls! I hope they always love each other this much!

So proud of herself!

On Tuesday of this week we went to the Pumpkin Patch for story time. It was great, and Christa loved it. Ms. Wendy, from Kindermusik, led it, and Christa was so interactive.

Abby Kate enjoyed the pumpkins, too!

And a Few More Pictures

Fall Bazaar - Christa asked to ride the horse, and loved it! She's quite the daredevil.

Baby dedication - we had both of the girls dedicated at our church's baby dedication on October 18th. We did not have a "home church" when Christa was a baby, and Cline's schedule at the time made it quite difficult to schedule one. It was sweet to dedicate them together.

Sweet smiles from Miss Abby Kate. She started "awake smiling" around 5 weeks, and "on cue" around 7 weeks.

Latest News and Pictures

Hey guys!! I thought it might be time to add some new pictures, so here they are. They are out of sequence and with no comments in between them. Apparently, when I added the slideshow several posts back, it changed some setting so that I don't see the pictures before I post them - I only see lengthy computer codes that I don't understand. Do any of you know how to change my settings back so that I can work with the actual pictures and not the codes??

The pictures of Christa wearing the ADORABLE pillowcase dress were taken the weekend before last. Thanks so much, Amy!!! (And a BIG Congratulations on your soon-to-be new arrival!!) Just a reminder to those of you with girls - I have two highly skilled friends who make quality pillowcase dresses and hairbows, so let me know if you need any!

The other pictures were taken a few minutes ago. We have a nice layer of leaves in our yard, and the whole town is just beautiful with the fall colors right now. I'm not one of those people who especially loves Fall, per se. I pretty much like any month except January and February - those are just dreary and miserable around here! But our neighborhood is really pretty right now, so Christa and I enjoyed a few minutes outside. As you can see in one of the pictures, she didn't know what to think of the leaves falling naturally being thrown at her by Mommy for scenic effect :)

In other news, we are doing great! We've had a busy few weeks with some out of town company, my 10 year class reunion (I'm so old!!), and football season. I am especially loving being back in our hometown. After living in Atlanta and Augusta, during which I had some really positive experiences, I am finding that I am a small-town girl at heart. I've gotten involved in Kindermusik and a mother's group called MOPS. MOPS stands for "Mothers of Pre-Schoolers" and is a Christian based organization where moms get together for fellowship twice a month. They have some fun activities in addition to our regular meetings, such as the Halloween party that Christa and I went to last month. I am making some great friends through both of these groups, and love seeing people around town who I know or have recently met.

Cline stays busy working, exercising, and helping with the football team. We are hoping we'll all have a little more free time once football season wraps up. We are also trying hard to find a church to join, and have found two in the area that we feel like we could fit in at. Hopefully we'll be able to check out their Sunday School and small-groups soon, so that we can move forward towards membership somewhere.

Well, that's about it for now. I guess I'll go do some never-ending laundry until Cline gets home :)
