Hello all! No pictures today - sorry about that. We're headed to Hilton Head this afternoon for the Labor Day weekend, so I promise some cute beach pictures next week. Labor Day in Hilton Head is an annual tradition with my parents, and Cline and I haven't been able to go since we got engaged. They are really looking forward to us (and by "us" I mean Christa) being there :)
Since not much has happened since my posting on Tuesday, I'll share with you what I like to call "random thoughts" - just a little of my perspective on an important worldly topic. Today, I will discuss the question: Why is it that if you put a baby girl in a blue anything, people automatically assume she is a boy?? I happen to love the color blue on girls - especially if it's a blue dress with embroidered flowers on it! And yet, every time I have dressed my baby girl in her cute blue dresses and ruffled onesies, complete strangers have come up to me and asked how old HE is! Then, when I responded that SHE is such and such weeks old, they have argued that she must be a boy since she is wearing blue. Never mind the pink socks that are on her feet, the pink stroller and carseat I am obviously pushing her in, or the bright pink diaper bag I am carrying with more flowers. Seriously, the socks should be enough. Who would put their boy in pink socks? (Although, I would dress my boy in one of those fashionable pink Ralph Lauren shirts).
Anyway, maybe I'm the crazy one, and my daughter is supposed to wear only pink literally from head to toe for the first year of her life. I happen to like a little variety. Please share your thoughts on this in the comment section and have a great weekend!

I will join you in your crusade. Everyone should wear blue. Maybe even a little red. Put a Jayhawk on there...
There is nothing wrong with guys wearing pink socks. I do once in awhile. SO they used to be white but turned pink when I washed them with my red shirts and a little bleach to get them clean, but that's beside the point.
BTW - I do wear pink shirts. I takes a real guy to wear pink.
Pretty much, she should just wear pink for the rest of her life. Take this from a mom of a boy, often mistaken as a girl, and a girl, often mistaken for a boy.
Of course, my favorite was when someone told me Harbin was a girl because he had hair!!! Who the heck ever decided that a baby with hair is a girl and one without is a boy!!!
You could always buy the bib I saw-it's pink with white letters that say "I'M NOT A BOY!"
I just noticed something on your main page. Picture of Christa with Cline in a pink shirt - happy. Picture of you in a blue shirt with Christa - not happy.
She may have spoken...
I dressed Gracie is some blue when she was less than a year old. No one every wondered if she was a boy! I happen to like blue and its Gracie's favorite color. I don't know why people get so confused. Do they not realize she is in a dress?
