Hello all! My mother had a milestone birthday last weekend. I won't reveal which one (because Alicia and I got scolded for doing that at a church function), but let's just say her 50th surprise birthday party was a number of years ago:). Mom let us know that she would prefer not to have a big surprise party this go around, so Alicia and I came up with a better plan. I told my parents that Cline had the whole weekend of Mom's birthday off, so we would do a hodgepodge of fun things (hinting that they needed to keep their calendar clear). Alicia flew in from Miami on Thursday as the "surprise." I picked her up from the airport around noon, and took her to my house. I'd already invited Mom and Dad over for dinner that evening. (They did NOT know that Alicia would be there). Alicia and I were a little too impatient to just wait for dinner, so I called Mom around 3:30p.m. and told her I needed her to watch the kids so I could run to Wal-Mart. I think she knew something was up, because it wasn't my best lying, but she came over. She was thrilled to find Alicia waiting there for her, ready to spend the weekend with us! Dad came over after work and was equally surprised! We had a great weekend, shopping on Friday while Cline watched the girls. We indulged in a little Chick-fil-A breakfast buffet on Saturday and then went to a Valentine's dinner dance at Mom and Dad's church that evening. On Sunday, we all went to church with my parents, and we had a cake for Mom. After lunch, Alicia had to return to Miami.
I hardly took any pictures, unfortunately, but I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend! Here are the few I did take (sorry, Mom - you're not actually in any of them :).

The girls ready to see Aunt Alicia, wearing the outfits she gave them for Christmas.

That's just cute!

Alicia reading to her nieces. She's such a cool Aunt!
