Alright, so I'm unwinding. I just returned home from yet another traumatic attempt at getting pictures made. Maybe God is trying to teach me a lesson - that professional pictures, in the grand scheme of things, are not all that important, and that the world will not actually end if we don't get that "perfect" picture every time. We did manage to come through this session without any head injuries, so that alone made it better than last week. And we did get some good "classic" pictures of her sitting up. But she was nervous and screamed through a lot of it, so we didn't get any great, toothy smiles. Oh well. Maybe next time.
She is officially 7 months old today. She's getting to be a bit more squirmy - wants to lean all over the place when I carry her. She's a lot of fun, but I hope she'll go back to just letting me hold her once in a while. I'll post some more pictures later - she's recovering from her morning with a nap. She is doing really well sitting up, and is enjoying eating bread bits, crackers, and Eggo waffles in addition to her puree diet. She might be an Asian food lover like her dad. We went to Aunt Bethany's baby shower yesterday, and they had a Korean rice-bread dish. I think it's called "puffed rice." It's kind of like a rice cake, but really light and airy so it just dissolves in your mouth. Christa LOVED it so much that the nice girl who brought it sent us home with a bag, since it's not easy to find.
As I was surfing the internet a moment ago, in my own attempt to relax, I was inspired with a random topic. Today's question is, "am I the only one who's getting sick of all the tabloids combining Hollywood couple's names?" It all started with "Bennifer" which I'll admit I thought was kind of cute. Then came "Brangelina" which I still think is dumb. Then "Tomkat" - seriously?? The latest is "Brohan" - Lindsey Lohan and Somebody Brody?? Actually, you don't even have to be a couple to get a combo-name - tmz.com consistently refers to Lindsey Lohan as "LiLo." It just seems like overkill, and I'm tired of rolling my eyes at these stupid nicknames. (And this IS a major deal in the grand scheme of things:)

Happy 7 months! And I hate to tell you that she's probably not going to sit still for you to hold her unless she is tired, sleeping or sick! She's moved on to discovering the world. I'm so glad you are taking pictures. They are so cute. (Aunt Martiele says hello.) Make sure someone else takes some pictures of you & Christa. When I look back at our pictures of when the kids were little, I'm not in them because I was always taking the pictures!
Talk to you soon!
Love,
MA
I love that second picture of Christa! It's adorable. Time flies doesn't it? Won't be long until she turns a year! Enjoy every minute of it. They change so fast from here on out : )
Love ya
Shanda
cute, cute pictures.... so when do you move home???? I'm sooooooo ready for you to be back!
Who are those adorable children next to Christa???? Oh, wait, those are my crazy kids- boy they look much cuter in your pics, in your blog, at your house!!
Anyways, really enjoyed visiting you. The kids loved it too, and I will always remember Harbin waking up saying "This house is pretty. I love it. It's got everything. That's just AMAZING!" He's a funny one.
And to pipe in on your rant. I think my favorite is Romessica (for all you anti-football fans, that would be Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson).
One more thing. Maybe we should all come up with our nicknames combining our name and our significant others. Mine would be either Kimott or Scomberly. Neither sounds all that great. Guess you have to be a movie star to make that work!
Ooohhh, just did yours and Cline and the first one Jessine doesn't work all that well, but Clinica does (it means clinic in Spanish).
Ok, done posting comments.
LOLOL. Too funny. I actually like Scomberly - it has a ring. Lets see - who else has commented on this post?? Margaret Anne's name - good grief she has of possibilities - I think I'll go with Marlee or Leeret. Shanda's would be Shis or Chranda. And Riley's mommy could be Aliric or Eri, or even Erison. LOL. I enjoyed ya'll visiting too. It's nice to have the company, and Harbin cracked me up making Christa laugh so hard with his fake sneezing. Come back soon!
Ohh - I did Harbin and Christa just for fun, and they totally work. Chrisbin or Harbita. Maybe it's fate...
